Best Small Shops awards at the House of Commons

It's always exciting to receive an award in recognition of the team's efforts and yesterday we were lucky enough to receive an award at the House of Commons courtesy of Indie Retail UK, partnered by new app launch Booost (with three 'o's!).

Ruth George, MP presented the winners and we mingled with the other 24 shortlisted shops with a rather spectacular view of the Thames as our backdrop. An eclectic selection record shops, book shops, bicycle shops and underwear shops were all celebrated for bringing life and a great deal of love to towns and villages across the UK.

We don't know who nominated us, but whoever you are, thank you, it means a lot.

We're thrilled to launch our hot-off-the-sleigh selection of Christmas goodie boxes at this year’s Spirit of Christmas fair at Olympia from 31st October to 7th November 2016.

Our beautiful stand will be home to our three new goodie boxes, all with a different Christmas vibe. Choose from - Christmas Love, Christmas Joy and Christmas Cheer – all are available as in small (£30), medium (£50) or large box sizes (£100). Christmas orders can be ordered from thepickledshop.com and delivered on a nominated day. They can even be sent next day delivery by special request.

Playing with pickles

We're extremely pleased to announce a series of workshops that will take place at The Pickled Shop in Bulwick, Northamptonshire.

Founder Camille Ortega McLean, who has developed dozens of original and award-winning recipes, will run small group workshops where you will learn how to make seasonal preserves and pickles and then learn how to incorporate them into inventive dishes for all the family.

Workshops take place twice a month and cost £95 for the day including lunch and wine (it's not called The Pickled Shop for nothing). Transport can be arranged from Corby or Peterborough train stations. A list of recommended accommodation is available here.

Corporate days or schools visits can also be arranged.
